Isi artikelThe operation of power plants for electricity production during the past decades provided the energy required for technological and economic development, which led to the rise of our living standard. The necessity of power plant operation in our everyday life cannot be argued by anyone, but a balance should be definitely found so that electricity production no more harms public health and its negative effects are minimized. This study develops and empirically tested a fuzzy-based group decision making method for evaluating 10 power plants with regards to their overall impacts on the living standard of local communities. The proposed graphical matrix approach coupled with fuzzy set theory identifies and measures critical performance indicators when comparing alternative energy power plants. To take vagueness, uncertainty and risk into account, a new decision making approach is presented with multiple fuzzy information by a group of experts, and the vague attitude for an each expert is incorporated that can be expressed linguistically. The result presented here are illustrative only and userdefined assessing is required to make this study valuable for a specific group of users. Compared to conventional deterministic method, the fuzzy graphical matrix approach provides more estimation accuracy, decision quality, and efficiency in energy power plant decision making with multiple experts under fuzzy environment.
