The document is an institution that holds assets of important information and is working accountability must always be maintained, nurtured and protected existence. In general terms, the word document is usually defined as information carrier (usually on paper) that contains text or image information for a particular purpose. Documents complete and accurate resulting from activities or transactions such as the organization of educational institutions have an important role in improving the quality of these institutions (Good University), as measured by the accreditation. The increase of the number of documents produced by the activities of the organization making the document management becomes very important. IT Telkom, which now has launched the World Class University, e-document into one system that can promote IT Telkom's big names in the foreign arena. In this Final Project, the author offers a design of an electronic document management system web-based that can later be applied in the Faculty of Industrial Engineering IT Telkom to help manage documents. Current document management in the Faculty of Industrial Engineering majority still use paper that has many weaknesses, especially in terms of the document search and audit documents. Therefore, the author offers a document management system that allows the faculty to search, storage and circulation of documents. Before starting the design of electronic document management system, first conducted field studies. Then identify the system requirements that will serve as the basis of design and user identification that will use the system. After the design process done, the next step is to perform trial. In this process there are several test systems that include system application functional testing, test error handling, performance testing and security testing. From the results of research that has been done through testing the system obtained the conclusion that the electronic document management system can assist the faculty in the management of documents. Therefore, with the design of this system is expected to increase the productivity of business processes, improve response time of business processes, reducing the total cost of the document, enhance the efficiency of storage space, reducing additional costs, reduce risk of loss or damage to documents, can make sharing documents and security documents maintained.
