Indonesia is an equatorial archipelago with an aggregated land mass of 1.9 million square kilometers, The population is approximately 164 million, who live on some 3000 island with 80% living in rural areas. About 62% of the population live on the islands of jawa and madura which cover about 7% of the total land area. The staple foods consumed by the people are rice, maize, sago, cassava and sweet potato. The major staple food varies in different areas in indonesia. people in the western part of indonesia eat more roce and maize, while people in the eastern part eat more cassava and sweet potato....
