Isi artikelUniform Random Numbers are useful in various application such as in simulation, sampling, numerical analysis, computer programming and computer games, Every computer system offers one or more function(s) for generating uniform random numbers. Many software products, like compilers, spreadsheets, statistical or numerical packages, also offerr their own. These functions supposedly return numbers that could be used, for all practical purposes, as if they were values taken by independent random variables, with a uniform distribution between 0 and 1. It is important that these characteristics be evaluated for random number generators used in scientific studies. This paper will evaluate statistical / empirical tests and theoretical tests on uniform random generators and apply some of these tests to several statistical / numerical packages and language compilers.
