AZF (azoospermia factor) gene is a gene of gene complex that has been intensively studied in correlation with the male infertility cases. AZF is located on the long arm of the Y chromosome and is indicated as three discrete AZF regions, i.e: AZFa, AZFb and AZFc. Deletion screening on Y chromosome by PCR (polymerase chain reaction) technique is currently performed in most of laboratories in order to obtain more accurate and sensitive result.
