A content analysis of four Philippine newspapers examined the nature of health and environmental journalism, perticularly in terms of how they deal with risk. This study explores the relationships between sensationalism, concrete instructiveness, optimism and risk assessment in health and environment articles. Result showed no significant correlations between sensationalism and other variables, but found significant associations between scientific sources and concrete instructiveness, as well as emphasis and concrete instructiveness and optimism.
