Isi artikel
Rapid definitive hemorrhage control, both in the field and in the operating room, remains an elusive goal in trauma patient management. Methods to control hemorrhage have not changed for years. Dry Fibrin Sealant technology has progressed rapidly in the last several years, possibly allowing rapid definitive hemorrhage control. This article reviews the history, theory, and problems with the homemade mixtures currently in clinical use. In animal hemorrhage studies, Dry Fibrin Sealant products have preserved blood pressure and significantly reduced blood loss. Future applications of various delivery systems (dressing, foam, powder, liquid) also are discussed.
