More specifically, the study analyzes the policy impacts of export quota, reduction of the number of exporters, and establishment of marketing group of exporters on the economic performance of producers and exporters. The results show that the policy on export quota and exporters' grouping have improved the competitiveness of coffee exporters in the international markets and increased the foreign reserves from coffee export, but have induced a monopsonistic structure of exporters relative to coffee producers. This non - competitive market structure has lowered the bargaining position of coffee producers (farmers), especially regarding the price determination mechanism.
