Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Deficiency Syndrome (lllV / AIDS) is a major public health problem, particularly because of its rapid transmission and severity. Approximately 50% of all mv infections are among people aged 10-24 years. It indicates that adolescents are particularly vulnerable to mY/AIDS infection. The aim of this study was to explore the knowledge of senior high school students about mv / AIDS, their attitudes and behaviors which contribute to HIV / AIDS infection. This study was conducted at three selected sehivr high schools in Ubud Sub-district in Gianyar District Bali Province Indonesia. This study design was qualitative and employed focus group discussion (FGD), open¬ended questionnaires and semi-structured interviews to obtain primary data. This study showed that knowledge about HIV / AIDS among adolescents in senior high school students in Ubud Sub-district is inadequat~. However, they had appropriate atti tudes to the prevention of mv / AIDS infection, and also have a heal thy lifestyle. Adolescent's knowledge needs to be increased, their attitudes can be enhanced with the right knowledge and their current healthy lifestyle should be maintained to prevent them from the ferocity of HIV / AIDS infection. This study also found there is inadequate health policy to support health promotion for adolescents and program management is weak. Furthermore there is uncoordinated implementation of the promotion and prevention prograrilS for HIV/AIDS.
