One should not be afraid of failure—but to repeat earlier failures is evil. The policies set forth by the new administration of Prime Minister Abe Shinzo are, it seems fair to say, no more than a repetition of the neoliberalism that was all the rage back in the 1980s—an ideology that has already been tried and found wanting.
