Isi artikelOphthalmic manifestations of AIDS are common. About 75% of HIV/AIDS patients suffer ocular complication of the disease. Ocular disorders of AIDS may affect anterior to posterior segment of the eye, and according to its pathology, they can be divided into microangiopathy, opportunistic infections, neoplasm, or neuro-ophthalmic. The most common findings include cotton wool spots at the early stage and cytomegalovirus retinitis which can occur both at early and late stage. Blindness caused by complication of AIDS is estimated around two to four million cases, especially in areas where treatment options are scarce. An early diagnosis and management of eye complications may increase the hope of preseNing visual function.
