The most common are disease associated with poor living conditions, new and re-emerging diseases, as well as social health issues including violence and mental ill health. The additional challenges for public health include increased longvity coupled with decreased fertility rates and the growing number of the elderly . Meanwhile, there have also been rapid developments in communication and information technologies that can assist in building well-rounded global citizens. On the other hand, they can also have the effect down long-held community values.
