In 1803 napoleon bonarte famously said "china is a sleeping giant and when she awakes she shall astonish the world." From the point of view of the country's transportationinfrastructure, there is substantial evidence that an awakening of astonishing proportion is currently underway. The significant advaces in china's domestic transportation systems - including rail, highways and roads, river transportation ad air capacity are running in parallel with important changes in china's economic management systems and the development of the country's first legal structure.
