Isi artikel
Although barely able to afford such a commitment, indonesia didn't hesitate to respond to the united nations' call for more troops to rebuild its battered peacekeeping force in lebanon after the 2006 summer war. Financial setbacks had drained the indonesian armed forces, or TNI, of its ability to send more than a few small batches of military observers to U. N. missions. But with admirable improvisation, the TNI restocked its inventory of armor, cobbled togetger a composite batallion from a number of infantry, airborne and marine units and drilled them for three months on the protocols of post - conflict peacekeeping. The united states lent a hand by sealifting all of the battalion's 42 vehicles to lebanon.
