What implications does the new " flat world" have for the discipline and pratice of instructional design? in this article, three implications are identified: (1) old metaphors for the porfession need to give way to new ones; (2) designers need to be better prepared for crosscultural practice; and (3) we need to allow more theory to grow out of inspired practice rather than always expecting practice to be based upon inspired theory.
