Design process in the existing layout should be goal to simply material-flow pattern and to plot the interacting value stream so that can be implemented in the manufacturing system more efficient called as lean manufacturing. This process is very important in the volatile environment which has high-variety low-volume (HVLV) demand. Similarity coefficient algorithm (SCA) is the cluster technique which can analysis material flow pattern in the shop floor. This paper applied SCA to redesign the layout so that to anticipate volatile demand condition (HVLV). This layout which is result the SCA called as Hybrid Extended- Cellular (HEC).
