On the whole, our reanalysis of the data largely replicated our original findings while simultaneously revealing a number of new effects. It is important to stress that, although there were some differences across the analyses (old vs. new), the main finding of lower ERP amplitudes for certain components of the 10 compared to the NIG was replicated. Accordingly, it continues to be the case that institutionalized children show markedly reduced brain activity compared to children residing with their biological families.
