A presentation of the inguinofemoral area is made from an embryologic, anatomic, and physiologic standpoint. An attempt is made to clarify the confusion still present about this enigmatic area through the presentation of old and new dogmata and by the avoidance of myths and innuendos, which misrepresent the anatomic entities of repair.
