The widespread acceptance of laparoscopic cholecystectomy has led to a small but definite increase in the rate of bile duct injuries. In certain patients, laparotomy to repair the injury can be avoided by using interventional radiologic techniques. This article describes the appropriate patients for collaborative surgical and radiologic management.
