Isi artikelPost-transplantation, 7796 cancers developed de novo in 7316 organ transplant recipients. The average time of appearance was 61 months after transplantation. The most common malignancies were carcinomas of the skin and lips, non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas, Kaposi’s sarcoma, carcinomas of the vulva and perineum, in situ carcinomas of the uterine cervix, hepatobiliary tumors, and various sarcomas (excluding Kaposi’s sarcoma). In many cases, the tumors were more aggressive in their behavior than their counterparts in the general population.
