There is an incredible wealth of un documented (or obscurely documented) features about the system that really make it easier to use and allow you to customize your windows installation to meet your specific needs. In a way, windows is the ultimate in personal computer programs, because you can finetune it so that your "desktop" is uniquely suited to your operating environmnet. I thought I would spend this column taking about how I have customized my version of windows, not because my way would be the best for you, but because it will give you some idea of what can be done and allow you to try some of the ideas for yourself.
