Isi artikel
What will banks and the banking environment look like at the end of the decade ? This paper describes factors that will lead to a decline in the number of independent commercial banks, thrift institutions and credit unions, and a fundamental change in target markets and product lines across institutions. It summarizes the characteristics of surviving firms and posits the likely operating environment. Global partnerships and cross - industry partnerships will become common place and banks will contract out an increasing share of back room operations, such as check processing.
