Although the material presented here uses a case study format, it was collected as part of the Dementia Voice Group Psychotherapy Project which involved establishing six, ten-week long psychotherapy groups for a total of 36 people diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia who were living in the south-west of England. Analysis of data collected independently of the group facilitators suggested that levels of depression for participants decreased significantly during the interaction period compared to the baseline and follow-up periods (Cheston, Jones, & Gilliard, 2003).
