This study is a hypothetical test intended to provide empirical data of the effects of Indonesian Rupiah (“rupiah”) exchange rate to United States Dollars (“US Dollars”) and Bank Indonesia Certificate (“SBI”) rate of interest on the Index of Composite Stock Price (ICSP) at Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) for the period between before Economic Upset in January 1990 and December 2004. The data used are those of the current months during the period. Objectives of this study are: (1) Analyzing whether SBI rate of interest and rupiah exchange rate to US Dollar have a correlation with the ICSP at the Jakarta Stock Exchange, (2) Analyzing whether SBI rate of interest and rupiah exchange rate to US Dollar have a correlalion with the ICSP at the Jakarta Stock Exchange, and (3) Re¬vealing empirical data that rupiah exchange rate to US Dollar and SBI rate of interest are feasible to forecast the Index of Composite Stock Price at Jakarta Stock Exchange. Findings of this study reveal that they decline Hypothesis One because rupiah exchange rate to US Dollar has positive but Insignificant effect on the ICSP; prove Hypothesis Two that SBI has negative and significant effect on the ICSP, and as well, prove Hypothesis Three that rupiah exchange rate to US Dollar and SBI are feasible to forecast the ICSP value.
