The role of information managers has grown to encompass managing websites, intranets and other related technologies, often on a global basis. Information and knowledge managers generally have responsibilities for devising information strategies and procedures to ensure the effective use of such technologies. An awareness of the legal/regulatory environment is therefore vital but the associated issues are complex with much legal uncertainty. This paper outlines how a practical approach to exploring the related legal issues has been effectively incorporated into the Legal Perspectives module on London Metropolitan?s MSc in Information and Knowledge Management. Discussion of two important policy activities, undertaken on the course illustrates the relevance of this approach to practising managers. |
