Almost one quarter of the respondents reported some kind of abuse by one or both parents, fathers? violence being more common than mothers?; 9.6% had suffered subsequent sexual violence, and 18.2% had experienced partner violence. Violence by one or both parents during childhood?especially mothers? violence?was associated with an increased risk of suffering from sexual violence and from partner violence.
