Historically, the strength and resilience of agribusiness sector has been tremendously high, even during the current economic crisis. In the last two decades, the industrialization policies are not so conducive for agribusiness, where the foundation was switched for more capital - intensive, import - dependence and high - tech industries. As a result, these manufacturing sectors were not so strong in facing external shocks, which are then collapsed together with the overall economy. The reformed strategies should put more emphasis in generating investment on agribusiness and agro - industry sector or on the resource - based industries in general. These could increase the production of agribusiness, raise the productivity and export performance of the sector, which eventually generate foreign reserves and employment opprtunities.
