Isi artikelThis research investigated the acceptance, the opinion and suggestion of the Sanata Dharma Physics Education Students toward the teacher certification program that was required by the teacher ~ law and that would be proposed by the Sanata Dharma Physics Education Department. This study was a quantitative survey. The samples were 89 Physics Education students of Sanata Dharma, con¬sisted of semester II, IV VI, and VIII students. The instrument was a questioner consisted of 28 questions: 10 questions about the acceptance of students toward the teacher certification program; 15 questions on the students’ opinion about the contents and characteristic of the physics teacher ~ cert?/ication program which will be done by Sanata Dharma Physics Education Department; and 3 questions about the possibilities students joining to the cert~/Ication program. Using the quantitative analysis, the research found that: (1) most students agreed to the government program of teacher cert~/ication; (2) most students pro¬posed that the Sanata Dharma Physics Teacher cert~/Ication program emphasizing the school teaching practices and the understanding High School physics contents; and (3) most students wanied to joint to the cer:~Ication program conducted by Sanata Dharma. The study increased the possibility of Sanata Dharma Physics Education to conduct the teacher certVlcation program. In addition, it gave suggestion to every institution that will conduct a physics teacher certification to emphasize the under¬standing of the physics content and the school teaching practices.
