The system of the national economy has to be reformulated, reoriented and reconstructed before it is being trapped in the pragmatism. This article proposes the system of market mechanism with justice, which is also known as hybrid capitalism. The general characteristics of the system are : 1. market - driven : based on economic freedom, workable perfect competition, rational and open economy, and 2. value - driven, universal value, ideological value and domestic value The system of market eocnomy is that all activities are driven by seller and buyer interaction in the market. The market system has been well - established in the human history and also more applicable to the indonesian condition, compared to for example socialist and marxist system. The market system proposed has to consist transparency, not an isolation from the international economy. Therefore, the national economic system can take benefits from the comparative advantage, prepare international economic cooperations and acquire ethics and acceptable norms in the international relations. The economic agenda in the future should be formulated as follows : 1. strengthening the rules and regulations 2. stabilization of macro economy 3. revitalization of financial system and state assets 4. empowerment of people's economy 5. economic integration 6. paradigm reform 7. rehabilization of social services 8. revitalization of idle projects, and 9. privatization of state - owned enterprises
