Isi artikelPediatricians frequently are asked to make recommendations regarding the protection of children from suspected carcinogenic agents. Information on health effects of suspected cancer causing environmental exposures is often incomplete, however. Informed recommendations require systematic assessments of the weight of evidence from available studies and placement of the studies into a conceptual framework that allows for available data to be reviewed in the context of epidemiology principles of causal inference.
