Isi artikelThe objective of this study was to identify the effect of time regulation and the amount of diet administration on leptin secretion as a dietary basis for bodyweight reduction. This was a laboratory experimental study using complete randomized design with factorial pattern of 3 x 3, revealing 9 treatment groups with 8 repetitions. Treatment consisted of feeding time 1, 2, and 3 times with standard diet, 10% less and 10% more than the standard diet. Serum leptin level examination was done using Elisa, while lipid and protein content in flesh were examined using respectively Soxhlet and Marcam Steel methods. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (Anova), followed by least significant difference (LSD) test when a difference was found. Results showed that serum leptin level, lipid and protein content in murine flesh fed 1 and 2 times a day with standard diet and 10% less than standard diet were significantly difference from those in other group (p < 0.05). It can be concluded that feeding of 1 and 2 times a day with standard and 10% less than standard diet result in lower serum leptin and flesh lipid levels and higher flesh protein level.
