Isi artikel
This article examines the tension that often arises between the values of public personnel administration and the technical/psychometric characteristics found in the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection. It is recommended that selection examinations for police officers move beyond focusing on logical-mathematical skills and expand to include additional individual variables that affect behavior in organizations. A comprehensive review and reassessment of police officer recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and evaluation is needed.
