Background: One of the essential strategies of Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion is developing individual personal skills. It is more effective in a model of setting. As reflection by health education in school health programme, the aims are to increase the knowledge, attitude and skills of students for active participation at school, including at home and community. This paper try to describe the healthy school's potential index setting (IPTS) base on the study evaluation of school health programme in the year 2005. Methods : 4 subdistrict at north and south jakarta were selected with purposive sampling method accoding to the socio economic status of community. After that 34 primary schools were determined with simple and proportional random sampling. The respondents are the teachers of school health programme which were interviewed using a questionnaire. The observation of physical school environment was also conducted. IPTS are determined by 4 indicators : little doctor programme, clean water reservation, healthy toilet sanitation and tobacco control arrangement at school. Results : only 17 (50%) of primary schools have the little doctor programme, there are 31 (91% of them have clean water resources, only 21 (62%) of the primary schools have clean toilet sanitation and only 6 schools from south jakarta have tobacco control programme. Over all there are 6 (18%) of the primary schools from north and south jakarta have the 4 component of IPTS. Therefore it needs many efforts to reach the healthy promoting school.
