Isi artikel
Relapse prevention (RP) has been a popular treatment approach to help clients maintain treatment gains. Although RP has not been extensively applied to families, it has been extensively applied to sex offenders and substance abusers. A variation of RP, the Relapse Prevention Model was developed by the authors to initially treat sex offenders and clients with habitual problematic patterns. Emphasis with the Relapse Prevention Model is on the following elements: identifying cycles and actively intervening by using specific coping skills. The theoretical basis is outlined. In this article, applications of the Relapse Prevention Model are discussed pertaining to habitual health problems within the family.
