Peace building refers to the activities and processes involved in the search for peace folloring a conflict or dispute. It is desirable that the coutnries or groups involved in a particular dispute make efforts to tackle the problem themselves, but the reality is that it can be difficult to do so without essential support from the international, community. International political scientist, mitsuru yamada, discusses the role of the international community in the peacebuilding process.
