Understanding cutting forces caused by cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut is important related with the quality of machining. This paper explains an experimental study of cutting forces on milling of hardened bearing steel (60 HRC) with circle ceramics and cubic boron nitride (CBN) cutting tools. The experiment based on the effect of cutting speeds and feed rates with a constantr depth of cut. The results show that cutting forces tend to decrease with increased cutting speeds, especially in milling process using CBN tools. In contrast, milling processes with ceramics cutting tools show that some cutting speeds result if higher cutting forces. Monitoring on cutting tools have shown that CBN tools had better performance during milling process. (Upload Full-Text_Ali-Nov'2023)
