Six isolates of streptomyces spp. producing antibacterial compounds isolatd from soils in sukabumi, kepulauan seribu, cipanas and east kalimantan were identified based on their morphology, cell eall chemotype and 16S rDNA sequence analysis. These isolated produced various growth inhibition responses against gram positive bacillus subtitlis and gram negative xanthomonas axonopodis, with spore chain morphology spiral and booked to looped, and LL - DAP, type cell wall. LC 17 - 2 (from lancang, kepulauan seribu) showed 98% with S, cebimarensis DSM 41798T. Both IVNF1 - 1 (from kutai east kalimantan) and PS1 - 4 (from pasir sarongge cipanas) gave the closest similarity (99%) with s. lavendulae IFO 14028.
