Isi artikel
Recent put breaks of circulating vaccine derived poliovirus (cVDPV) revealed the possibiltiy of recombiantion between poliovirus (PV) and nonpolio enterovirus, particularly cluster C enterovirus. Based on genetic analysis, it is assumed that coxsackie a virus serotype 17 (CAV-17) one of the cluster C eterovirus, may naturally recombine with PV. To elucidate this hypothesis, a chimeric virus between PJI56 a type 1 cVDPV isolate (derived from an acute flaccid paralysis case in the phillipines in 2001) and CAV-17 (PJI 56 / CAV - 17) was constructed using the long PCR methid. THe result, PJI 56 / CAV - 17 was viable in the HE p - 2 cell line and could be passaged in that cell line. However PJI 56 / CAV - 17 poduced small plaques (, 1 mm) as compared to the parental PJI 56. The recombinant virus also showed relatively slow growth at 35.0 celcius degree and no growth at 39,5 celcius degree. Up to 10 (6,3) CCID (56) of PJI 56 / CAV - 17 did not exhibit neurovirulence on OV receptor expressed transgenic mice. From these results it is suggested that PV can recombine CAV - 17 and the phenotype of recombiannt virus is influence by the characteristics of CAV - 17.
