Isi artikel
This article focuses on the continuity-ruptureemergence approach that characterizes simultaneous and nonsimultaneous temporalities. It addresses the different ways individual and collective actors participate in history with the help of their experiences and expectations. Although the 'speeding up' process increasingly influences contemporary societies, society formation remains anchored to continuities linking it to the past.
