In a move aimed at reinforcing its presence in the oncology field, amgen of thousand oaks, claifornia, signed a deal to purchase abgeinx of fremont, california, to be finalized by the end of the first quarter of 2006. The december agreement was driven by successful clinical results of abgeniix's fully human antibody panitumumab against cancer.
