Isi artikelSelectivity is the key to the science of hitting IP home runs. Practically all academies and other not for profit research institutions now have technology transfer offices, through which they seek to exploit the economic value of interventions and discoveries made by their own researchers. Patent license royalties have become an inreasingly significant source of monies to incentivize research productivity and to finance such things as facilities improvements, faculty expansion and the direct costs of research. But how can academic and non for profit institutions manage their intellectual property (IP) programs to promote the twin goals of maximizing licensing revenues and advancing the frontiers of science and technology for the public's benefit ?
