In this article we see the changes in Japanese society throught the eyes of an observer and cultural scholar. Dr. Siti Dahsiar Anwar, commonly known as Ibu Ida. She was the head of japanese areal studies, graduate school, university of Indonesia, between 1990 and 2004. In February 2006, when this interview took place, she was in Japan and from this email chat, her varied and interesting opinions on the transformation phenomena of Japanese society can be seen.
