This research was conducted with the aim oto discover the meaning of life and fear of death of midlife adult cancer patients. An in - depth interview was conducted to discover the meaning of life, while fear of death was revealed through seven kinds of fear, namely fear of the unknown and fear of suffering and pain, fear of loneliness, fear of sorrow, fear of loss of self - control, fear of identity, and fear of regression (Pattison, 1967). Pattison citated in Turner & Helms, 1983). Fear of death was also revealed through in - depth interview. Data from interview was analysed with content analysis. Results show that fear of death remains either on subjective already internalizing the meaning of life or the subjects not yet internalizing it. The difference and causes between the two groups are discussed.
