This article confers the importance for parents to know th eprocess of child development and adopting a suitable rearing method in order to facilitate the child to develop optimally according to his / her potentials. Furthermore it was revealed that the traditional view that a healthy indicidual is someone who behaves according to his / her gender role should be abandoned. A healthy individual is just someone who has androgynous characteristics, having masculine and feminine attitudes in a balanced condition. Therefore, it is recommended that an education process referring to androgynous development should be enforced as early as possible, for example through scouting program, so that indonesian youth could be self - supporting, skilled, creative, physically, and mentally healthy, and having a balanced and healthy masculine and feminine attitudes.
