Isi artikelStroke which usually attacks people above 60 years, can also attack adult people aged around 40 years. The patient's alteration and limitations in movements, communication and thinking leads to frustation and sense of crisis which in turn develop tension, anxiety, frustration in facing the future, and even depression. This research was keen to find out whether a correlation exists between a sense of humor and social support and level of depression. Subjects (N = 36) are stroke / poststroke (< 1 year) married male patients, having children, aged 36 - 55 years, high schol alumni with normal IQs and scored above normal (>9) on beck depression inventory (BDI) and handicapped due to left hemispheric deterioration, covering those with 1 and 2 degrees of disability. Results show a negative and very significant correlation between 1 and 2 degrees of disability.
