Isi artikelDespite the recent promotion of directly observed therapy-short course (DOTS) by world health organization (WHO) in many countries, multi drug resistant-tuberculosis (MDR-TB) continues to be a 21st century problem for TB control programs. Conventional drug susceptibility testing for M. tuberculosis is routinely perfomed take at least three weeks. although the recent introduction of liquid culture systems, such as BACTEC or MB/BacT, for drug susceptibility testing, has shortened the test time substantially : the development of a relatively inexpensive, rapid, and accurate test for drug susceptibility testing of M. tuberculosis become one of the top priorities in TB research.
