At the onset of the 21st century, our society finds itself incapacitated by three conditions that individually and collectively diminish us : first , our private and public discourse is becoming increasingly more hostile and rude ; we are losing civility and respect for each other. second, the system in which we live and work , our communities and our institutions, are becoming incresingly dysfuntional ; our efforts to "fix" them, rather then design our system anew, just postpones the end of our agony.
