The fact that a mare 5% of submissions to tha U.S. departement of education's expert panel on educational technology merited designation as "promising" or "examplary" demonstrates that the panel's framework for judging programs goes beyond conventional evaluation practice. the panel has provided the field witha thoughtful, multi-faceted framework for thinking both the important dimensions of technology-supported educational innovations and about the kinds of evidence we need to assess the framework and the associated discussion by Confrey, Sabelli, and Seingold from an evaluator's perspective, i find much that is consistent with practice at SRI's center for technology in learning. at the same time, this framework expanded my thinking. its use would push.
