This paper describes speckle reduction method in Synthetic aperture radar based on thresholding wavelet coefficient of transformed image. In this paper, we compare both soft thresholding and hard thresholding. Threshold values are estimated according to the noise variance of Donoho's formula and the noise variance of each level decomposition. With the result obtained, we compared variansi, mean square error, effective number of looks (ENL)dan Deflection Ratio(DR) of the denoised images to determined the better thresholding-technique.
