Isi artikelThis research aimed to analyze the levels of teachers ‘satisfaction towards their professions from the viewpoints of the financial and non-financial aspects (social, psychological, job and career aspects). The differences in the satisfaction levels were examined in detail from the viewpoints of the gender, age, employment status, education level, and length of teaching. The research was descriptive and used the purposive sampling technique. The samples were teachers of the elementary school (SD), senior high school (SMP), senior high school (SMA)/senior vocational school (SMK) in the city of Yogyakarta. To find out the levels of the teachers ‘satisfaction towards their professions, the researchers employed the criterion-referenced evaluation, type II. In order to test the differences, the researchers used the Chi-Square Test with the significance level offive percent. The research results showed that the satisfaction of the financial aspect was extremely unsatisfactory, of the job and career aspect relatively satisfactory, of the psychological aspect satisfactory, and of the social aspect also satisfactory. Accordingly. it was concluded that the levels of teachers ‘satisfaction regarding the financial and non-financial aspects were relatively satisfactory. The levels of teachers ‘ satisfaction towards their profession were examined based on (1) the gender, with no d4[ference in the financial, job and career; psychological, social aspects 41 seen as a whole (financial and non-financial aspects), (2) the age, with no djfference in the financial, job and career, psychological, social or other aspects 41seen as a whole, (3) the employment status, with d4fferences in the financial and social aspects, but without djfferences in the job and carees. psychological aspects 41seen as a whole, (4) the education levels, with no differences in the financial aspect, but with differences in the job and career; psychological, social aspects 41seen as a whole, (5) the length of teaching, with no difference in the financial, job and career, psychological, socialaspects 41seen as a whole.
